SHIFT festival was organized in the castle of Turku -one of the coolest sites in Finland- for the 2nd time. The speciality of this business conference is the venue, since most of the workshops, presentations and face-to-face meetings are arranged outside in the park around the castle. This unique setting makes the atmosphere very relaxing and easy-going, not to mention the festival afterparty in the Kakola, an old jailhouse. Turku as a city has also a lot to offer for visitors, whether it’s for sightseeing or for the good food.
Moprim, a participant in the TryOut! experimentation platform program was one of the two TryOut teams (along with aiQu) that had the opportunity to attend SHIFT this year. They had a very busy schedule during the two-day event, including more than 10+ face-to-face meetings, pitching, exhibition meetings and a roundtable discussion. All that went very well thanks to good arrangements and nice atmosphere. Pitching in an outdoor stage is actually really fun and the same goes for the 10-minute matchmaking meetings outside in the park!
However, the organisers had had a bit too much confidence in the Finnish summer in June. This year unfortunately, the weather resembled more to early winter! Just when you think everything is fun and going well, another windy wave is taking over you and all you crave for is a spot somewhere warm. At least I had my fair share of coffee in these two days. Still, writing this a few days after the event, I already start to wait for the next year’s SHIFT.
A big thank-you for the event goes to the organisers of TryOut. I’m happy to be part of the program and attend such great events like SHIFT. Let the future be here.
